Oh man total 90s nostalgia! Do you remember Sister, Sister? I sure do!

I jumped at the chance to photograph Tia Mowry for the May issue of Zooey Magazine. I truly loved that show growing up and couldn’t wait to meet Tia. She’s just like how I expected her - super sweet, funny, and bubbly except she’s all grown up with a baby and have cameras following her everyday life in her new reality show Tia & Tamara. There’s a possibility that I might make a brief appearance on her show….we’ll seeeeeeeeeee

Sneak peek into my upcoming cover shoot for Koream and an inside look at my scattered style of making selects. I learned this way from the photographer I used to work for who was only used to shooting on film and made all the selects from contact sheets so created a digital style of a contact sheet. I too made my selects on contact sheets when I shot on 35mm so I gravitated towards this style.

Trying to pair the black and white medium format shots with the digital 35mm shots. An image by itself can be pretty/powerful/cool but to pair it with another image that is equally as strong and to create a consistent mood and story is a challenge for me.

The portrait of this woman I photographed has the most incredible and inspiring story. I truly hope my portraits will do her story justice.

I feel that most photographers are failed artists in being able to draw/paint and therefore have absolute glee when they can call their photo “art” by having their work shown in a gallery. I am indeed one of those photographers.

I have one image shown with a group of amazing talented photographers!
